Working as an English teacher in a community school, language academy, or even independently online can generate extra income for those who wish to combine teaching with another profession.
Cambridge CELTA is open to any individual who, like Anna, feels tempted by a job that includes human interaction and forming relationships.
Anna graduated with a bachelor´s degree in dietetics last June. Her initial idea was to further her education and obtain a master´s degree in dietetics, but when she took the university entrance exam she received a poor grade and did not get into the master´s program. This made her reconsider her options. What would she do? Anna’s father is an English teacher, and since she was very young her father noticed she had a great talent for languages, so he proposed the idea of doing the CELTA course, an official Cambridge qualification with which an individual becomes an English language teacher for non-English speakers.
Although initially, she was sceptical, Anna joined a Cambridge CELTA training course, thinking that it was better than just twiddling her thumbs.
Anna confessed that she enrolled in the course to avoid spending a year doing nothing, until she could reapply for the nutrition and dietetics master´s program. However, while learning the ropes of CELTA, she increasingly saw the appeal of dedicating her life to teaching English. She said that she was surprised at how much she liked the course and how useful she found it to complete her academic training.
How did CELTA training trigger such a personal transformation in Anna?
What she highlights most, both from the course itself and from having chosen CLIC to embark on this adventure, is undoubtedly the teacher trainers. She says that both Hannah and Mike have made her fall in love with teaching and they helped her get the most out of the program. Like many others, Anna realised that CELTA has not only served her to become aware of her true vocation, but has also influenced her on a personal level, as she has been able to enhance skills she didn’t even know she had. Moreover, CELTA has helped her overcome some personal limitations such as shyness.
Anna is only one, among those more than one hundred young and not-so-young English speakers that enroll in a Cambridge CELTA course in Andalusia every year.
Whether, if like Anna, you are not sure about the next step in your professional career or you simply like the idea of making an additional income by teaching English, it is worth enrolling in the Cambridge CELTA certification in Malaga. Cambridge CELTA is the most praised training among education recruiters.
Ready to enroll in the next CELTA course in Seville or Malaga?
