Police launch a double murder investigation after bodies were found in Gloucestershire.

BREAKING NEWS – A double murder investigation has been launched by Gloucestershire Police after two bodies were found 15 miles apart in Cheltenham and Bourton on Wednesday, March 2.

The body of a man was found at around 6.25 am on March 2 in Sherborne Place, Cheltenham and then the body of a woman was found later at an address in Bourton-on-the-Water, in the Cotswolds, according to the Mirror.

According to the paper, Gloucester Police have arrested a man on suspicion of the murders and he is currently being held in custody.

A Gloucestershire Constabulary spokesperson said: “Detectives have launched a murder investigation following the death of two people. A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and is in police custody.

“Police were called to Sherborne Place in Cheltenham at around 6.25 am today (Wednesday 2 March) where the body of a man was found. An investigation was launched and the body of a woman was also later located at an address in Bourton-on-the-Water in the Cotswolds.”

“The Major Crime Investigation Team is in the early stages of an investigation and officers are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with information to make contact with police.

“Those involved in the incident are known to each other and officers are not currently seeking anyone else in connection.

“Investigating officers are also keen to hear from anyone who may have dashcam or CCTV footage that could be relevant to the investigation.”

According to an eye-witness in Bourton-on-the-Water, police had taped off a large area at end of the A435 next to Sunny Nest BnB. The police were reportedly standing over a white sheet covering a 6′ x 2′ object on the ground.
