Ukrainians neutralise elite Chechen unit sent to assassinate President Zelenskyy

Elite Chechen fighting unit sent to assassinate Ukraine President Zelensky wiped out by Ukrainian forces

During a televised address to the nation, on Ukraine 24 TV channel, this Tuesday, March 1, Oleksiy Danilov, Ukraine’s Secretary of the National Security and Defence Council, announced how an elite Chechen fighting unit who had been sent to assassinate President Zelynskyy, had been wiped out.

It was known that Ramzan Kadyrov, a close ally of Vladimir Putin’s, and the leader of Russia’s Chechnya region, was the man responsible for deploying the fighters.

“The unit which came to kill our President, was eliminated”, he said. “We are already aware of the special operation that was to be carried out by Kadyrov forces unit”.

Danilov continued, “We received the information from representatives of Russia’s Federal Security Service who do not want to take part in this bloody war. The Kadyrov forces unit, which came to kill our President, was eliminated”.

According to Danilov, on arrival, the unit split into two groups, but was kept under surveillance from the time they landed. The first group was caught in Hostomel and eliminated. The second group was captured and its members are being kept under armed guard.

“We will not give our President or our country to anyone. This is our land, get out of here”, Danilov added.

Zelynskyy had even admitted in a video broadcast from a secret location last Thursday 24 – after Putin’s forces invaded – that he knew he was “target number one”, and that Russia would hunt him and his family down.

Another group of approximately 400 mercenaries known as the Wagner Group was reported to have slipped into Kyiv last weekend, on a mission to kill the President. They allegedly flew in from Africa five weeks ago, as reported by mirror.co.uk.
