 for thePolice in Alcorcón are starting to make headway as they work to crackdown on the gang violence, with the arrest on Friday March 4th of a gang leader and nine minors for machete attack. The ten individuals were wanted for an attack that took place December at the Las Aguilas suburban train station, where a victim was severely injured in an attack.

The leader of the gang known as Forty Two had been hiding in his home, in the Madrid town of Alcorcón, for months. Following investigations the national police learned of his whereabouts and swooped to arrest him in his apartment. It is understood that gang members regularly visited him in his home.

The unidentified leader was placed at the disposal of the judicial authority, which has sentenced his to jail.

According to the investigators, the gang began to assault the victim for allegedly being a member of a rival youth gang, attacking him with machetes and causing serious injuries throughout his body.

Having completed their investigations the police arrested nine minors, who were all identified and arrested for their involvement in the attack. . In addition, one of them is also considered allegedly responsible for a crime of belonging to a criminal organisation, for being a proven member of the Dominican Don’t Play. All of them have been placed at the disposal of the Juvenile Prosecutor’s Office.

With the arrest of the gang leader and the nine minors for the machete attack, investigations are still ongoing with more arrests expected for gang membership and assault.
