‘Hooked dog’ rescued in Spain’s Almeria. The dog was rescued by officers from the National Police.

National Police officers stepped in to help rescue a dog that had become hooked on a door handle. The dog had been suffering for several hours and had been unable to free itself.

According to reports, the dog had somehow managed to hang itself by its mouth on a door handle. The emergency services were alerted to the incident by neighbours. Neighbours had called the emergency services on 091 to say that an animal was suffering. The animal was heard continuously barking with a pitiful tone.

The animal was inside a house in Jaul Street. The dog had been crying for several hours.

Officers from the National Police made contact with the dog’s owner. The owner was not at home. The owner made sure that National police officers could enter the house to find out what the problem was.

When the officers entered the house they discovered that the dog had become hooked on to a door handle by its mouth. The animal was not able to free itself.

The situation was assessed and various different possibilities were discussed. Officers decided to take the door off its hinges and place it on the floor. After this, the dog was able to free itself from the agony that it must have been in.

The police then quickly sped the dog and its owner to a veterinary hospital. The dog was set to receive medical care and be thoroughly examined after its ordeal.

No further details regarding the dog’s condition are known at this time.
