Man rants at predicted £21,000 a year energy bill. The man raged: “Am I covering the whole of f****** Bolton?”

One Bolton man’s energy bill has gone viral after. The bill predicted a grand total of just under £21,500 for the year.

According to the bill posted on Twitter, the man would be hit with an initial monthly payment of £1,954. This is due to be taken by British Gas on April 1. The energy consumer would then have to pay 10 regular monthly payments of exactly the same amount.

According to Manchester Evening News, other people joined the viral Twitter feed to share their ridiculous energy bills. One user shared their bill from January which said he owed British Gas £7,024.28 each month.

Another person joked that they were paying for South Yorkshire’s electricity. Her bill showed a direct debit of over £5,000 a month to EON.

The viral thread soon had people wondering if they would be hit with similar bills. Due to the ongoing energy crisis, many people have seen their bills increase or even double recently. Multiple energy providers have gone bust in the UK recently.

It appears these ridiculously high bills are more than likely wrong according to suppliers. When customers transfer to a new supplier from a supplier that has gone bust incorrect bills could be issued. This is due to the old supplier not providing correct usage data. The bills should be corrected at some point.
