Yellow weather warning issued in Valencia and Castellon by AEMET

AEMET, the State Meteorological Agency, has activated a yellow weather warning for this Monday, March 21, in the Valencia and Castellon regions. Intense rains are expected in the northern and southern interior of Castellon, and the northern interior of Valencia.

An accumulation of up to 90mm could fall in a 12-hour period, and even as much as 120mm in 24 hours. There is a probability of between 40 and 70 per cent of this heavy rainfall occurring says AEMET. This weather pattern with rainfall is also predicted to continue through Tuesday, March 22.

The likelihood of heavy rain exists for much of  Spain this week. This should hopefully bring some much-needed water reserves to the reservoirs that are currently struggling for capacity around the country. Parts of Spain saw some rainfall last week but it is reported that this did very little to raise the water levels.
