International fugitive busted in Benidorm. The fugitive from justice was wanted in Holland, Denmark and Spain.
Officers from the National Police have arrested a Dutch national in Alicante’s Benidorm. The 52-year-old man was wanted by multiple countries and had been sentenced to 4 years in prison. The detainee was the subject of a European arrest warrant.
The man had already been sentenced to 4 and a half years in prison for money laundering, drug trafficking, falsification of documents and belonging to a criminal organisation.
Officers from the Judicial Police Group III of Benidorm working with the Fugitive Groups of the C.G.P.J and the Organised Crime Group of the B.P.P.J set out to arrest the wanted man.
When arrested the man was not carrying any identification but the police believe they have the correct person. The international fugitive has been handed over to the courts. The courts will carry out the formalities to surrender the arrested person over to the requesting country.
