Moto GP: Spaniard Marc Márquez suffers a hair-raising accident. The rider was evacuated by helicopter after suffering from a heavy fall.

Marc Márquez was taken to the hospital in the Lombok island area after he crashed during the warm-up to the Moto GP race. The warm-up race was taking place at the Mandalika circuit of the Indonesian Grand Prix.

He was catapulted off his bike and flew through the air. He managed to make it off the track under his own steam before being rushed to hospital.

Unfortunately, he has now been declared unfit for the Indonesian MotoGP GP. This is due to the strict protocols in place. In total, he suffered four crashes over the weekend.

Dr Angel Charte commented: “Marc is fine. He had a high energy crash in the Warm Up, which resulted in a head injury. Initially, we examined him here and then referred him to the hospital in Lombok.

“He underwent several radiological tests, which were negative. In agreement with the rider and the team, and due to the fact that this type of pathology requires a period of observation between 12 and 24 hours, the rider, the team and the MotoGP medical staff have decided to declare him as unfit.”
