COFFEE MORNING: Well-attended despite the bad weather Photo credit: U3A Calpe
U3A CALPE held their first coffee morning instead of a general meeting on March 17.
Despite the cold rainy weather, around 45 enthusiastic members enjoyed a social morning with friends at the Club de Tenis.
The Travel and Membership tables were busy handing out cards and information and Freda Croasdell, Travel treasurer, who announced a Christmas trip, also asked members to suggest ideas for future travel.
U3A Calpe’s president, Wendy Down, thanked members for coming out in such bad weather and explained that there would now be six coffee mornings each year, three general meetings and one annual general meeting.
Following the success of this first meeting, U3A Calpe is convinced this format is the way to go for future meetings., the president said.
The venue for April’s coffee morning will be announced shortly, but for more information see the www.u3acalpe.org website.
