The refurbishment and energy rehabilitation works have been completed at Axarquia Hospital.
The reform and energy rehabilitation works have been completed at the Axarquia Hospital, which was visited by the manager of the East Malaga-Axarquia Health Area, Miguel Moreno, on March 17. The refurbishment works involved an investment of 1,519,627 euros and were partly financed by the ERDF funds.
Until now, the Axarquia Hospital had retained a large part of the original industrial installations from its inauguration in July 1985. They included air conditioning units that served the entire building, including critical areas such as operating theatres and the ICU, and frequent breakdowns meant that it was often necessary to rent air conditioning units from elsewhere, especially during the summer.
Just some of the new installations at the hospital are seven air conditioning units, seven LED lamps for operating theatres, insulated pipes, energy meters, photovoltaic energy panels, a coat of reflective paint on the roof to reduce the temperature and energy management software.
