Velez-Malaga is set to host the first Conference of Authors of Children’s and Young Adult Literature.

On March 25, the Centre of Contemporary Art in Velez-Málaga will host the first Conference of Authors of Children’s and Young Adult Literature. More than 25 authors of both literary genres will participate in the initiative. The Conference is part of the Bookeron Project, which was created with the aim of bringing attention to the literature produced by authors from the province of Malaga.

The councillor for Culture, Cynthia García, stressed the importance of initiatives that promote reading and local culture and that “make Velez-Malaga a point of reference”.

The promoter of the Bookeron project, Maite de la Cámara, said that the aim of the cultural event is “to give visibility and recognition to these authors so that their books are available in public libraries, schools, bookshops and other cultural spaces where they can be promoted.”

Just some of the authors taking part include Antonio Gómez Yebra, Belén Sánchez Vigo, Carmen Ramos, Paloma Rivas, Ismael Fernández, Alicia Acosta, Susana Rico, Antonio Montoro, Ana Ruiz Luque, José Andrés Delgado, Rocío Clavero, Candela Mesa, Elena López, María Díaz and Svetlana Kalachnik.
