Robert Morse’s son revealed that the star had died on Wednesday night, April 20. The American actor had gained five Emmy nominations for his Mad Men role.
The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences Larry Karaszewski paid tribute and commented: “My good pal Bobby Morse has passed away at age 90.
“A huge talent and a beautiful spirit. Sending love to his son Charlie & daughter Allyn.”
He went on to add: “Had so much fun hanging with Bobby over the years – filming People v OJ & hosting so many screenings (How To Succeed, Loved One, That’s Life).”
Fans took to social media to share their shock and sadness over the death.
Sharing a clip from Waterloo, one fan tweeted: “RIP Robert Morse. I remember it being said that this scene would one day feel as much like a swan song for him as an actor as it did the character, and gosh does it ever.”
Another fan stated: “Farewell Robert Morse, you lovely man, and Broadway legend.”
A third fan tweeted: “Farewell to Robert Morse, who has left us aged 90.
“Known for his Broadway musicals, he had a fitting finale for his role in Mad Men.”
