The summer courses offered by the UMA, some of which will be held in Velez-Malaga, are completely free and are a great opportunity for those who want to learn something new.

Velez-Malaga has once again been selected as one of the venues that will host this year’s summer courses offered by the University of Malaga (UMA). The programme includes a lecture from the former vice president of Spain Alfonso Guerra, in which he will honour the life, work and memory of the influential Spanish poet and playwright Miguel Hernandez.

This was explained by the mayor of Velez-Malaga, Antonio Moreno Ferrer, at the provincial presentation of the summer courses at the Rectorate of the UMA. Those interested can now register for the courses through www.fguma.es.

The summer courses, to take place from July 5 to 8, are being held for the twentieth year running, coinciding with the 50th anniversary of the University of Malaga. The training programmes are offered free of charge to all citizens who wish to learn, with no requirements regarding age or origin. Other programmes include a course on the local cultivation of vineyards and the winemaking process and a course dedicated to mental health.
