Steven Euesden – the heart of business at the Euro Weekly News

Euro Weekly News owner and co-founder, Steven Eusden

A STRONG leader is someone who can plot success and rally the troops to complete the mission. For the Euro Weekly News, that man is Steven Euesden. From humble beginnings in England, Steven has dedicated himself to building Spain’s largest free English newspaper with his wife, Michel.

In 1995, Steven and Michel Euesden packed their belongings into their car and set off for the Costa del Sol. Since then, they have worked tirelessly to build up the Euro Weekly News into what it is today – the leading expat newspaper in Spain.

Like many boys from England, Steven is an avid football fan and applies the same mentality of hard work, discipline, and self-motivation to his everyday life. Like David vs. Goliath, Steven has never felt like he was unable to achieve what he set his mind to. Following an apprenticeship in a mill in Bury, north England, where he decided he wanted more from life, Steven began his sales career and never looked back. Meeting the love of his life, Michel, Steven made the move from the UK to Spain where he and Michel became an unbreakable team on the Costa del Sol.

This start to life in the north of England, where a strong work ethic, hands-on approach and community spirit to always help others is instilled into most growing up, has lent itself well to building the Euro Weekly News into what it is today. In his own words, Steven said: “I am immensely proud of our achievements in Spain and Portugal although as many people who work and live abroad soon realise to their cost, making a success of any business venture out here requires an investment of twice the amount of blood, sweat and – yes – tears as in the UK.”

Steven Euesden has been relentless for the last 23 years, turning leads into sales and turning clients into part of the EWN family, returning time and time again to work with this successful community company. Advertising, sales and business are in Steven´s blood and his thirst to succeed has led him to be dubbed The Silent Assassin. But, don´t be fooled, underneath all of this is a heart that is dedicated to helping the local community and expats. This is done through events, giving people a voice through the Euro Weekly Newspaper and website, donations and even campaigns such as our most recent Blue Badge campaign for British people. With a clear vision, excellent communication and relationship-building skills, diligence and, above all, a big heart, Steven Euesden is the driving force behind everything the Euro Weekly News achieves.

Fortunately for us within the expat community, what Steven and Michel Euesden have set out to do is improve the lives of all expats coming to Spain and have been championing and helping the community for more than 23 years. The motto being “help at home” can be exemplified by charitable acts such as the Euesdens sponsoring the World Vision Gala Dinner – A charitable group that helps communities with long-term development projects, emergency relief operations and advocacy programmes.

They also sponsored a special event in aid of Children With Cancer UK where members of the local community were inspired into action and raised over €30,000 for the children’s charity.
