As reported by the 112 Andalucia Emergency Service, the lifeless body of a person was recovered from the sea today, Friday, August 12. The corpse was found floating in the water about 12 miles off the coast of Malaga, south of the municipality of Torrox in Velez-Malaga.
112 had been notified by the Guardia Civil of the discovery of the body that had been pulled on board by members of the Maritime Rescue Service at around 00:45am this morning. They immediately reported the incident to the National Police, Guardia Civil, and the 061 Emergency Health Centre.
His body was subsequently transferred to the Port of Caleta de Velez-Malaga. No further information has been disclosed about the man’s identity, age, or nationality. An investigation is ongoing by the police to determine the circumstances surrounding the body’s discovery.
