England’s water CHAOS as people queue for bottles after taps run dry

There have been chaotic scenes in Surrey, England, today as hundreds of families are either without water or have very low water pressure.

Netley Mill Water Treatment Works have confirmed they are having ‘technical issues’.

People have been standing in queues for hours at one of the two designated water stations in the area.

The chaos comes just a day after a drought was officially declared.

Thames Water’s statement read as follows: “If you have no water or low pressure due to the technical issues at Netley Mill Water Treatment Works, we are very sorry.”

“We are doing everything we can to get supplies back to normal as quickly as possible.”

“In the meantime, we have opened bottled water stations in the following locations:

  • Cranleigh Leisure Centre, Village Way, Cranleigh GU6 8AF
  • Surrey Hills Business Park RH5 6QT

“We are monitoring the situation closely and will open more bottled water stations when we can.”

“This bottled water is for essential use, like drinking, cooking and hand washing. Please be considerate and don’t take more than you need.”

“If you have a neighbour who’s unable to get to a water station, please let us know and we’ll do our best to make sure our limited supplies are fairly handed out.”

“Thank you for your patience while we work to get supplies back to normal. We know how disruptive and worrying it is to be without water, especially in this hot weather.”

“We’ll post updates here once we have further information.”
