THE Age Support Almanzora charity recently held a very successful Fun Fest at the Arboleas Community Centre.

Hosted by Breeze FM, the event included live music from Steve Jackson, Jack Law, Debbie Davis and the Silverback Blues Band.

There were craft stalls,a bar, barbecue, bouncy castle and dancing late into the night in the large air-conditioned hall that was packed with people enjoying the entertainment.

“The Fun Fest was a marvellous accomplishment for all the volunteers who prepared and ran the event,” said Age Support’s president.

“More than 200 people attended, raising more than €2,600 from ticket sales, stalls, the bottle bank, raffle, bar and barbecue. After overheads, the money will go to help with the charity´s work in the community.”

“We will hold this event annually as it was so popular, and the atmosphere from 4pm until late was great,” Vanyua said.

Age Support are now planning a Christmas Fayre on Saturday November 26, again in the Arboleas Community Centre, and the annual Christmas Gala on Friday December 9 at La Parrilla in Albox.

Contact Vanya on 642 045 210 for details or to book a stall.

Age Support covers the Almanzora Valley area including Albanchez, Albox, Arboleas, Cantoria, Partaloa and Zurgena, with the aim of improving quality of life for older people.

The charity provides emotional and practical support, which is completely confidential and provided entirely by volunteers.
