The detainee is accused of four robberies in the Albacete area of Spain, three completed and one attempted, in which he used a firearm.

The arrest took place when he had allegedly just committed a robbery at a bank branch in Minaya.

The robber has been remanded in prison, according to the Guardia Civil on Saturday, August 13.

The Guardia Civil, as part of operation “Acuapalo”, has arrested a man as the alleged perpetrator of four robberies with violence and intimidation, three of them completed and one attempted, committed in bank branches in the Albacete towns of Barrax, Madrigueras and Minaya.

In total, a total of €12,800 was seized.

The investigation began last May after the first robbery was committed in the town of Barrax.

The detainee committed the robbery dressed in fluorescent clothing, hiding his face with a mask and a woollen hat.

The robber intimidated and threatened the bank employee with a short firearm, tied her up and took €8,765.

The second robbery took place in July in another bank in Madrigueras, in the same style as the previous robbery where he took a haul of €2,540.

From the second robbery, the investigators began a series of surveillance of the main suspect.

This is when this individual carried out the third robbery in the town of Minaya, where the day before he had tried to commit another robbery, and was later arrested by the agents.

The detainee was carrying a pistol, which turned out to be simulated, and a plastic bag containing some €1,520 from the manual cash register of the last bank branch that had been robbed.

The proceedings and the effects seized were handed over to the La Roda Magistrate’s Court, which ordered the detainee to be remanded in custody.
