VIDEO footage showing air-defence systems from Ukraine shooting down a Russian Orlan-10 UAV has been backed up by the country’s armed forces.

Reports on Saturday, August 13, suggest that Ukraine’s Air Defence Forces have actually destroyed four Russian Orlan-10 UAVs in the east of Ukraine over the past few days, with one being caught on video reportedly from the early hours of August 13.

The footage shared by the @Flash43191300 Twitter account came with the caption: “This morning, anti-aircraft gunners of the Armed Forces of Ukraine destroyed the Russian” Orlan-10 “UAV, which corrected the fire of the artillery of the Russian troops.”

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine wrote: “The Joint Forces Task Force reports that over the past day, the Air Defense Forces of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine destroyed 4 UAVs of the Orlan-10 type in the east of Ukraine, including one at night and a Su-25 attack aircraft.”

A Russian Su-24 bomber-carrier was also shot down by the Ukrainian Air Force in Izyum, Ukraine on June 12.

At the time, the Ukrainian Air Force said: “On June 12, at about 10 a.m. a Russian Su-34 bomber-carrier was shot down by anti-aircraft missile forces of the Ukrainian Air Force in the region of Izyum in the Kharkiv region.

‘The Russian aircraft operated in pairs, attacking the positions of the Ukrainian defenders. After entering the defence zone, one of the hostile aircraft changed course, while the other pilots decided to try their share.’

“Don’t be so lucky!” – the anti-aircraft soldiers responded and shot down the hovering aircraft, thus congratulating the invaders on “Russia Day”!’

‘The aircraft fell on the occupied territory. Whether the pilots survived the crash is to be clarified.
Also, on 12 June, a Russian Orlan-10 UAV was shot down by a surface-to-air missile unit.”

‘The air strike force conducted a number of air strikes against enemy positions of the occupying forces.’

“They struck at the concentration of enemy equipment and the enemy’s live ammunition. As a result of the air strike the stockpile of missile and artillery armour was destroyed,” concluded the statement.

Earlier on Saturday, August 13, Ukraine revealed in its latest combat losses update that one Russian unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) had been destroyed by Ukrainian forces.
