Earlier, Andriy Yurash, Ukrainian Ambassador to the Vatican, commented on a speech given by Pope Francis on Wednesday, August 24 in which he called Darya Dugin an ‘innocent war victim’.
Ms Dugin was blown up in her car in Moscow on Saturday, August 20.
The Pope said: “I think of that poor girl blown up by a bomb under her car seat in Moscow.
“The innocent pay for war. The innocent! Let us think about this reality and say to each other: War is madness.”
Following the speech, Yurash took to Twitter to share his opinion on the comments from the Pope.
“I think of that poor girl blown up by a bomb under her car seat in Moscow,” he said.
As noted, Darya Dugin died as a result of a car bombing over the weekend.
She was the daughter of Aleksandr Dugin, who has previously been dubbed ‘Rasputin’, and ‘Putin’s brain’, due to the influence he allegedly holds over the Russian president, as well as their close personal relationship.
On Monday, August 22, Russia’s FSB released a video reportedly showing the woman alleged to have murdered Darya Dugin, the daughter of close Vladimir Putin aide, Aleksandr Dugin.
The woman was named, Natalia Vovk.
According to reports, Vovk rented an apartment in Moscow near Daria Dugina’s home in order to “obtain information about her lifestyle.”
This information appeared to contradict earlier reports that Aleksandr Dugin was the intended target of the car bomb attack.
Vovk is now apparently hiding in Estonia following the incident, the FSB reported on Monday, August 22.
