Andriy Yurash, Ukrainian Ambassador to the Vatican, commented on a speech given by Pope Francis on Wednesday, August 24 in which he called Darya Dugin an ‘innocent war victim’.
Ms Dugin was blown up in her car in Moscow on Saturday, August 20.
The Pope said: “I think of that poor girl blown up by a bomb under her car seat in Moscow.
“The innocent pay for war. The innocent! Let us think about this reality and say to each other: War is madness.”
Following the speech, Yurash took to Twitter to share his opinion on the comments from the Pope.

People on Twitter commented on Yurash’s post.
“Once again, an unacceptable tweet by the Ambassador of Ukraine to the Holy See. @Pontifex is a true promoter of peace, not NATO’s or Kyiv’s chaplain. As a Christian leader, he condemns all violence, including the terrorist assassination of Darya,” one person said.

“Even if the Pope and the institutional church are not on your side, still we, millions of Catholics, are with you. I asked my priest to say Missa in Tempore Belli for people and armed forces of Ukraine and I myself say daily Rosary for safety of Ukrainian soldiers,” said another person.

As noted, Darya Dugin died as a result of a car bombing over the weekend.
She was the daughter of Aleksandr Dugin, who is thought to be the mastermind behind Putin’s planning for the invasion of Ukraine.
He has previously been dubbed ‘Rasputin’, and ‘Putin’s brain’, due to the influence he allegedly holds over the Russian president, as well as their close personal relationship.
On Monday, August 22, Russia’s FSB released a video reportedly showing the woman alleged to have murdered Darya Dugin, the daughter of close Vladimir Putin aide, Aleksandr Dugin.
The woman was named, Natalia Vovk.
According to reports, Vovk rented an apartment in Moscow near Daria Dugina’s home in order to “obtain information about her lifestyle.”
This information appeared to contradict earlier reports that Aleksandr Dugin was the intended target of the car bomb attack.
Vovk is now apparently hiding in Estonia following the incident, the FSB reported on Monday, August 22.
