According to preliminary data reported by Russian news agency Baza, at around 4 am. an unidentified man drove a car to the entrance of the military enlistment office in Uryupinsk (Volgograd region), then got out and started throwing Molotov cocktails at the building.
At that time a patrol walked around the military registration and enlistment office and noticed the young man.
The young man was quickly arrested, later being identified as 35-year-old Mikhail Filatov.
After he was detained, he explained that this was his way of communicating his position against mobilisation.
The fire was also quickly extinguished.
The news of an arson attempt on a military enlistment office in Russia follows reports that Aleksandr Eliseev, a Russian commander in Ust-Ilimsk, Russia, was shot at a military enlistment office on Monday, September 26.
In addition, Ukrainian Armed Forces HIMARS launched an attack on a hotel in the Russian-occupied city of Kherson, that saw former deputy of Ukraine’s Verkhovna Rada Alexey Zhuravko killed, as reported on Sunday, September 25.
