What is a poke bowl?

Originating in Hawaii, a poke bowl is a fresh and healthy dish that contains rice and marinated raw fish including tuna and salmon or vegetarian falafel, accompanied by fresh vegetables and other toppings of your choice.

Poke bowls are jam-packed with healthy ingredients, such as cucumbers, radishes, seaweed, carrots, sweet potatoes, avocados and vitamin and antioxidant-rich fresh vegetables. Antioxidants eliminate free radicals that can damage cells, and have disease-preventing and anti-ageing properties.

All of the poke bowls at No-Mad have a base of avocado, edamame, wakame, Dutch cucumber and sesame.

We asked Mike, owner of No-Mad, which dishes are the most popular: “People love the meat, it’s from the local butchers and we work closely with local suppliers of produce and wines. People really love the poke bowls and the plates do very well. We always try to have a variety and no waste.”

“Our wines are local and from the Alicante region, we also have special Belgium beers.”
