Torrevieja to celebrate Holy Guardian Angels Day in honour of Local Police

The festivity of the Holy Guardian Angels, the patron saint of the Local Police, will be celebrated in Torrevieja on Sunday, October 2.

The Councilor for Security and Emergencies of the Torrevieja City Council, Federico Alarcon, has confirmed a mass will be celebrated in the Parish of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, at 10:00.AM on Sunday, October 2.

The mass will be in honour of all the deceased Local Police and will include the participation of the Francisco Vallejos Torrevejense choir and the Torrevejense Musical Union (UMT).

At 11:30.AM an Award Ceremony will be held in the main hall of the Casino Cultural Society of Torrevieja. The event will be chaired by the mayor of the city, Eduardo Dolon, and a total of 144 agents will be recognised.

An acknowledgement will be made to the nine agents who have recently joined the force and public congratulations will be given to the Civil Protection Merit awarded by the Generalitat Valenciana to 13 local police officers for various heroic actions.

Finally, the nine officers who have served the local police of Torrevieja for 30 years, the four who have served 35 years, and the three officers who have retired in the last year will also be recognised.
