The Cheese and Wine Festival will begin at midday and last until midnight each day.
The Councilor for Public Roads, Nicolas Cruz, confirmed: “This festival was launched with the aim of extending the visiting season and getting the tourists who visit the town to enjoy the best cheeses in Spain and the best wines on the market.”
The councillor went on to thank the collaboration of the Association of Entrepreneurs from Mijas and cheesemakers from the province of Malaga.
“After the success of last year, the format is being repeated. There will be 16 stands, eight for the sale of cheese and another eight for the sale of wine. There will even be products linked to cold cuts and sausages for sale,” the councillor added.
“It will be an unmissable event for lovers of good food that will be enlivened every day by musical performances thanks to the collaboration of the Department of Culture.”
“As a novelty this year and at the discretion of the merchants themselves we have incorporated a shaded area with awnings to cover the central part of the Plaza Virgen de la Pena,” the Councillor confirmed.
