Orihuela awards the Gold Medal of the City to the Polytechnic School

The Orihuela Town Hall celebrated on Friday, October 6, with the presentation of the Gold Medal of the City to the Polytechnic School of Orihuela for its 50th anniversary.

Antonio Sanchez, Councillor for Festivities, highlighted “the immense privilege that I have had as Councillor for Festivities to submit this dossier for the award of the Gold Medal of the City to this very important academic institution.”

“A proposal that will remain forever engraved in the history of this municipality and our beloved Polytechnic School of Orihuela.”

Ricardo Abadia, Director of the Polytechnic School of Orihuela, expressed his gratitude for the honour, “the City Council has been linked to the school since its inception, and continues to be so with the numerous collaborations that we have been doing at present, and which I hope will continue for many more years.”

Abadia also stressed that “with this Gold Medal, we have achieved the full consolidation of university activity in our city, and I hope that this is felt by all Orihuela residents.”
