Residents and tourists who visit https://inforatge.com/meteo-lavilajoiosa can receive a weather forecast in real time as well as temperatures, windspeed, rainfall and humidity from La Vila’s professional weather station located in the town centre, which provides an uninterrupted flow of information.
The town hall signed an agreement with the Valencia Meteorological Association (AVAMET) last April, undertaking to set up the weather station at the Llar del Pensionista social centre.
This has now been complemented with the website following a technical inspection by the Inforatge company, which the town hall explained offers “detailed and precise” forecasts based on the different meteorological models and updates that it consults each day.
The new website also offers interactive maps and a blog on weather phenomena, historic local meteorological facts and a direct link to the weather station’s webcam that shows the state of the the Villajoyosa sky.
“This service is also an important means of following adverse weather conditions in real time, allowing us to take efficient preventive action, in coordination with the Emergency Services,” said Villajoyosa’s mayor Andreu Verdu.
The https://inforatge.com/meteo-lavilajoiosa website is already accessible and will shortly be added to the municipality’s https://villajoyosa.com website.
