Not a classic game but a win nonetheless and perhaps most importantly for Brazil, another clean sheet. This game is the second in which the opposing team hasn’t managed a shot on target.
Switzerland will now need to beat Serbia to have any chance of progressing to the next round.
The game is now moving quickly from end to end as both sides seek that goal that could end the game or result in a draw.
The Manchester United player smashed a shot into the far corner, taking a deflection on the way through and beating the keeper. 1- 0 it is.
Switzerland decide on some fresh legs too bringing on Seferovic and Aebischer for Embolo and Sow.
Sadly, it is ruled out by the VAR who decides that Richarlison was in an offside position. Although many of the commentators are saying they don’t understand the decision as he was not interfering with play.
The game has come to a halt with Widmer suffering a nosebleed.
The first card of the game comes on the fiftieth minute with Rieder getting yellow carded for an elbow into Rodyrgo’s face.
Possession has been fairly even although Brazil have had the upper hand with five shots, two of which were on target.
So far Switzerland have yet to find a scoring opportunity.
Let’s see what the second half brings.
Inexplicably the bus ploughed into a number of cars ahead of it on Monday, November 28.
Thankfully none of the players suffered any injuries and the game was able to go ahead as planned and with no team changes.
