A large number of firefighters, police and medical teams were dispatched to the scene, located near a thermal power plant.

Local reports suggest that the single-engine training aircraft, which took off from the airport of a civil aviation company in Turkey’s Pamukvova, crashed into a natural gas cycle power plant in Bursa.

Employees at the plant, located in Ovaakça neighbourhood of Bursa Osmangazi district, called 112 Emergency Service Command Control Centre and reported that an aircraft had crashed in the empty land near the plant, according to Turkish media outlet sakaryahabermerkezi.com.

Bursa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Alinur Aktaş said: “One person, unfortunately, died by being thrown out of the plane, and the other one has a burn due to the burning of the plane.

“Apart from this, there is no loss of life. There is an airport in Bursa, we do not know whether he wanted to land there or complete his route and return. There are climatic conditions, wind, rain. The prosecutor’s office is currently investigating these.”
