12:17 (February 4) – Two friends of the woman alleged to have been the victim of a sexual assault by Dani Alvez, have said that he had originally approached them.

According to LaVanguardia on Saturday, February 4 the two said in court that he had asked them to go to a reserved room with him. They declined but their friend accepted an invitation to enter the room which turned out to be a bathroom, where he then sexually assaulted her.

Six employees at the Sutton nightclub also confirmed their version of events.

The sexual encounter was confirmed by a local hospital that examined her, but the evidence is disputed by the defence legal team who say that according to CCTV she entered the room a full two minutes before he did.

Alvez who was in court to try and have his detention overturned, found the evidence against him piling up lessening his chances of being released before trial.

9:17 (February 3) – The wife of convicted footballer Dani Alvez has taken to Instagram to say that “Yes, she knows how to smile while breaking inside.”
