WEST HAM have confirmed the arrival of Mohammed Kudus at the London Stadium. The former Ajax star joins the Hammers with the club riding high in the Premier League at the start of a new season.

In an official statement on, the club wrote: ‘West Ham United are delighted to announce the signing of Mohammed Kudus’.

It continued: ‘The Hammers fought off intense competition from some of Europe’s leading clubs to secure the services of the exciting Ghana international attacker from Ajax’.

‘The 23-year-old joins the Irons on a five-year contract for an undisclosed fee, becoming the Club’s third major summer signing following his former Ajax teammate and Mexico international Edson Álvarez and England midfielder James Ward-Prowse’, it added.

‘A strong all-round player and prolific dribbler capable of making and scoring goals, Kudus has established himself as one of European football’s most sought-after young players. Now, he has brought his talents to the London Stadium’, it concluded.

Kudus, who will wear the No. 14 shirt for the Irons, said: ‘I’ve been dreaming to play in a league like this since I was a kid. I’ve been dreaming of this moment and I’m so happy to be here. But it doesn’t stop here, I want to keep going’.

He added: ‘I try my best to entertain the fans as I think that’s what football is all about. I’m just here to do my best and help the team. I’m really happy to be here. I will fight for the badge. I can’t wait to get started’.

David Moyes expressed his delight at the new signing

‘I’m delighted we’ve been able to bring Mohammed to West Ham United’, commented David Moyes. ‘He’s a terrific young talent, who has already shone at the very highest level for Ajax in the Champions League and made well over 150 senior appearances at the age of 23 – so it was no surprise to see so many top clubs chasing his signature this summer’.

‘The fact we’ve been able to attract a player of his undoubted quality to London Stadium shows the pull West Ham have now – the Board and Tim deserve huge credit for getting this one over the line’, the manager enthused.

UPDATE: Sunday, August 27 at 3:30 pm

WEST HAM are on the verge of unveiling Mohammed Kudus as their latest signing after the Ajax star passed his medical this Sunday, August 27.

According to Fabrizio Romano, he will sign a contract today. He tweeted: Mohammed Kudus has successfully completed medical tests in London as new West Ham player.  Contract until June 2028 plus option to extend will be signed on Sunday. Here we go, confirmed’.

Landing the young Ghana international is a massive coup by the Hammers. The club has got off to an unbeaten start this season in the Premier League, with an excellent 1-3 away win yesterday against Brighton at the Amex Stadium placing them on top of the table.

The Seagulls have been something of a bogey team for David Moyes, who expressed his delight after the match. ‘We’ve had disappointing days here and the supporters are always worried about watching the game here. It’s great to get rid of those days and give the supporters this victory’, he said on West Ham’s official website.

WEST HAM have reportedly secured a ‘verbal agreement’ with Mohammed Kudus, one of the most sought-after young players in Europe.

This exciting development for David Moyes’ side was announced by Fabrizio Romano, the respected Italian football expert, on his official Twitter account.

He wrote: ‘Mohammed Kudus to West Ham, here we go! Verbal agreement sealed with Ajax on €45m total package add-ons included plus sell-on clause  Player’s five-year deal also agreed and medical booked on Saturday. Huge work by new director Tim Steidten, waiting to sign docs in 48h’.

As Romano stated, this is a massive coup by the Hammers to bring such a quality player to the London Stadium. The versatile 20-year-old Ghana international can play in midfield or out on the wing and was believed to be on the radar of several top clubs in Europe.

He joined Nordsjælland’s Ghanaian Right to Dream Academy in Denmark aged only 10. On July 16, 2020, Kudus made a dream move for €9 million to Ajax in the Eredivisie. At the time he was reportedly called a player with ‘incredible potential’ by the Dutch giants’ then-manager, Erik ten Hag.

In what looks like being his parting gift to the club, Kudus scored a hat-trick in a 4-1 win against the Bulgarian side Ludogorets in a Europa League qualifier last night, Thursday 24. Tim Steidten, the new Hammers technical director is believed to currently be in Bulgaria with the player.

West Ham have a decent transfer fund to dip into after the recent sale of their captain, Declan Rice, to Arsenal. They have already snapped up the 25-year-old Mexican international midfielder, Edson Alvarez, also from Ajax.

West Ham United have confirmed the signing of Southampton midfielder James Ward-Prowse. The set-piece specialist becomes the Hammers’ second summer signing after Edson Alvarez’s arrival from Ajax.

James Ward-Prowse arrived in London from Southampton

James Ward-Prowse has also arrived in London from Southampton after they were relegated. The 28-year-old set-piece specialist is an excellent addition to the West Ham midfield setup.

‘I’m buzzing to be here at West Ham United. It’s great to be here and I’m looking forward to getting going’, he told

He continued: ‘From the outside looking in, this is a Club that has been on the rise for a number of years now and coming off the success in the UEFA Europa Conference League last year, you can feel there is real momentum around this Club’.

‘It’s great to be a part of it and I can’t wait to play my role in the games to come. When I think about my game, it is based on hard work, graft, and giving 100 per cent’, Ward-Prowse added.
