THE Region of Murcia boasts a burgeoning real estate market, with Murcia, Cartagena, San Javier, Águilas, and Mazarrón emerging as the most coveted municipalities for property acquisition or rental within the region.
These areas have secured spots among the top 100 most in-demand municipalities, as per a ranking compiled by the Idealista real estate portal in the third quarter of the year. Notably, La Manga del Mar Menor, though not officially a municipality but dependent on Cartagena and San Javier, has also made its presence felt in this ranking.
When categorised by pricing, San Javier leads the pack in terms of average property value among the most sought-after regions in the area, exceeding a substantial €225,000. Following closely is La Manga del Mar Menor, with an average of €208,000, showcasing the coastal areas commanding higher property values compared to urban centres.
Shifting the focus to the rental market, the same Region of Murcia municipalities reappear among the sought-after regions for renting. However, in this domain, La Manga del Mar Menor emerges as the priciest rental location, hovering around €1,000 per month. Mazarrón follows with an average of €776 per month, while Murcia stands at €720 monthly.
