Casares, Nerja and Estepona are the favourite places for foreigners to buy a home.
Burriana beach, the bay of Casares and the area from Guadalobón to Bahía Dorada in Estepona are the favourite destinations for Swedes, Poles and Dutch buyers in Malaga province, according to idealista.
The district of Burriana, in Nerja, tops the ranking of the favourite places for Swedish citizens, when it comes to buying a home. This area has 66 per cent international demand, followed by other districts in the same municipality.
In the top positions of this ranking is also the bay of Casares, with an international demand of 54 per cent and in which citizens from Poland stand out as the highest number of buyers.
This is followed by the western part of Estepona, including the areas of Guadalobon, Buenas Noches and Bahía Dorada. All these neighbourhoods have an international demand for housing of over 50 per cent, mainly from Dutch nationals.
This is followed by the Puerto Banus area of Marbella with 51 per cent international demand, with buyers from Sweden standing out, according to the idealista ranking.
In 2023, foreigners made 15 per cent of all home purchases in Spain with a total of 88,000 property purchase and sale transactions, according to data from the Property Registrars.
