Calp’s annual Piano Festival will conclude on Friday, May 29, with a free performance by internationally recognised Hungarian pianist István I. Székely at the Casa de Cultura Auditorium.

The concert will begin at 8pm and marks the grand finale of the third edition of the Calp Piano Festival, a cultural programme that throughout May has brought internationally acclaimed classical musicians to the Costa Blanca town.

Organised by Calp Town Hall’s Department of Culture, the festival has continued growing in popularity and is increasingly positioning itself as one of the Costa Blanca North’s most notable classical music events.

International performers brought world-class music to Calp

This year’s programme has featured performances by several internationally recognised pianists, including Jean-Paul Gasparian, Congyu Wang and Zee Zee.

The festival was created with the aim of making high-level classical music more accessible to residents and visitors while strengthening Calp’s cultural offering beyond the summer tourism season.

Concerts have been held at the Casa de Cultura Auditorium with free entry available until full capacity is reached, helping attract audiences from across the Marina Alta region.

Hungarian pianist István I. Székely, who will close the festival on May 29, is known internationally for his interpretations of both classical and contemporary repertoire.

Cultural events continue expanding across Costa Blanca North

The Calp Piano Festival forms part of a wider effort by municipalities across the Costa Blanca North to strengthen cultural tourism and diversify local entertainment programmes throughout the year. In recent years, Calp has increasingly invested in cultural events, concerts and exhibitions aimed at attracting both residents and visitors outside the peak holiday season.

Local authorities believe events such as the Piano Festival help improve the town’s image as a destination that offers more than traditional beach tourism while supporting local businesses and hospitality sectors. The closing concert is expected to attract classical music enthusiasts from across Alicante province as the festival completes another successful edition on the Costa Blanca coast.
