Imagine falling asleep in the twenty-first century and waking up in Medieval times. That’s the case for locals in Mojácar, who will find their town transformed from Thursday 11 to Sunday 14 for the highly anticipated Moorish Medieval Market.
Every year, Mojácar celebrates its Moorish heritage with one of the biggest themed markets in Almería. The 2026 edition is expected to be a stand-out event with an exciting programme of events. Parades, knightly combats, falconry displays are just some of the one-of-a-kind experiences attendees can look forward to at the Mojácar Medieval market.
Explore the streets of Mojácar’s Medieval Market
The market will span across multiple streets and plazas, truly making it feel like the whole town has been transported back in time. Stroll along Calle Glorieta, cross through Plaza Nueva and reach Mirador Plaza Nueva, all the while soaking up the jubilant atmosphere and perusing the many stalls dotted along the route. Whitewashed streets will be decorated with banners, lanterns and traditional Moorish-inspired details, adding to the authentic ambience.
Stalls have been specifically curated to offer a wide range of unique keep-sakes, with hand-crafted items, historical talismans and artisanal products on sale across all four days. Visitors will also find ceramics, leather goods, jewellery, spices, perfumes and textiles inspired by Andalusian and Moorish traditions.
Live entertainment and family activities at Mojácar Medieval Market
Live performers will travel through the market routes, ensuring the streets remain full of energy and entertainment all day long. Jugglers, troubadours and musicians performing medieval melodies will create a festive atmosphere for the whole family. Visitors can also expect oriental dance performances, theatrical parades and interactive entertainment inspired by the town’s Andalusian past.
Families attending the event will discover plenty of activities designed for children, including traditional games, workshops and craft demonstrations. Falconry exhibitions featuring hawks and eagles are once again expected to be among the highlights of the weekend, alongside dramatic medieval combat displays and historical re-enactments.
A celebration of Mojácar’s Moorish heritage
More than just a market, the event is a celebration of Mojácar’s fascinating cultural identity and historical legacy. The town’s Moorish roots remain deeply woven into its architecture, traditions and atmosphere, making the Medieval Market one of the most distinctive events in the Andalusian summer calendar.
With free entry and activities running throughout the day and into the evening, the 2026 Mojácar Moorish Medieval Market promises four unforgettable days of history, culture and entertainment for visitors of all ages.
