TWO brothers are being tried for the rape of a 15-year-old girl in Palma. The victim said that she was raped three times and held captive by them throughout the early hours of the morning that fateful summer day in 2005. The two suspects, of Ecuadorian origin, aged 31 and 37, denied the charges and one of them said that it was consensual because the minor was “in love” with him.
Since she “looked older” they claimed that they were not aware she was underage.
An 18-year jail-term has been requested by the prosecutor for the main suspect for repeated rape and holding her captive, while his brother faces just two-and-a-half years and a fine for failing to prevent the crime.
