NINTEEN brave souls will throw themselves out of a plane at 1,000feet and free-fall for 5,000feet before a parachute will hopefully open to carry them gently back to earth.
This is for a Charity Tandem Sky-dive by Jalon and Orba Lions Club on Saturday September 24 at El Pinar Aerodrome, Castellon.
Last year’s sponsored abseil event raised nearly €6,000 for the Lions Club of Jalon and Orba. This year, participants can nominate the charity the money they raise goes to.
Candidate charities include MABS; HELP, Children of EMAUS, The Franciscan Hospice at Palme de Gandia, Cystic Fibrosis Trust, LAPS and SCAN, Association Protectora de Animals, Caritas, Akira and the Lions Club of Jalon and Orba.
Participants have paid the €180 cost of the sky-dive themselves with family, friends and colleagues sponsoring them.
If the thought of Sky Diving fills you with terror, but you would still like to help the Jalon and Orba Lions in this event they would be delighted for you to sponsor any of their brave jumpers and their nominated charity.
You could do this by contacting Andrea or Stuart Aitchison on 966236987 or mob. 658060254 or andreaandstuart@msn.com
