FIVE youths were arrested in Motril for allegedly beating a young couple outside a local disco.

The altercation reportedly took place after the couple had an argument about a drink with two other female clients in the disco. A man intervened, forcing the couple outside, where he and four others violently attacked the young man.

His girlfriend was able to call the National Police, who arrived on the scene and took the victims to Motril Hospital.

The young man had to undergo emergency surgery in Granada for a fractured jaw. The woman’s injuries were less serious. An investigation led to the arrests of the attackers, one Spanish and the others Romanians, who allegedly worked in the disco.
