Woman charged Over Inca blaze

A WOMAN was arrested in Inca on attempted homicide charges following an extensive Guardia Civil investigation.

The 36-year-old allegedly deliberately set fire to her neighbour’s home in the early hours of the morning in October last year.

At the time a couple and their two children, aged five and seven, where sleeping inside the property in a building in the Son Amonda area. They had to be treated for burns and smoke inhalation.

The accused allegedly checked that her family were asleep before going over to her neighbour’s property, according to the Guardia Civil. She used a key that nobody knew she had to enter the home.

Once inside she used flammable material and petrol at the entrances to the two bedrooms and left, locking the door behind her.

The motive was due to the ‘bad relations’ between the two families, Guardia Civil believe.
