Sunshine brings ‘home’ our friends!

SOME lands, further to the north of us, are without our glorious sunshine.

Fortunately, they are given hints of how well we live here in the south by the TV newscasts. Mojacar’s number one ‘Sun Ambassador’ is Bob Jones whose photographs appear almost daily on the national and regional TV stations when they announce the weather.

He has become our biggest advertisement to lure those not as lucky with the sun’s radiance.

His sunrises and skies offer at least a glimpse of what they are missing.

Now that the beach bars are open, visitors will be pouring in.

Why not check it out at www.rtve.com and/or Canal Sur or pop into my office and see Bob yourself in Guardia Vieja building just above Los Arcos bar — mornings to view other famous photos of Bob´s and OUR SUN.

A former long time resident of Mojacar and golfing enthusiast has come back for a visit.

Following an eight year stint in Germany doing technical illustrations, Maureen and Owen Howe moved back to England but grace us each winter for a few months worshipping the sun and playing serious golf.

Owen (pictured here showing a page from a magazine that caught his eye) adapts photos into exquisite pen and ink drawings that have brought him international repute.

He understates his talent as just a “hobby that he enjoys doing”.

Mojacar´s sunny winters and his golf days inspire his exceptional graphic works and keep them much in constant demand.

Easter is around the corner and many more friends will be returning “home” to what we hope will be sunny welcome.

If you have someone special that you feel needs to be mentioned give me a call on 607 11 71 74.

Hopefully it won’t be paraguas instead of parasoles.

Gin tonic instead of hot chocolate.
