JAVEA: The sixth annual festival went ahead without a hitch.
JAVEA town sixth annual ‘Tapas’ festival went ahead without barely a hitch last weekend, regardless of the threatening storm weather forecast. Thousands of visitors poured into the two-day event staged in Javea old town centre to sample the gastronomic delights of this Spanish speciality on offer at only €1.25 each.
Prepared by the best of the town’s chefs, the choice of food also included a full menu of goodies ranging from traditional skewered meats with rice, typical Spanish desserts and sweets for all the kids.
Spanish wines and cocktails were also available, not only from the special festival bars, but also in Javea old town pubs, bars and nightclubs that played an integral part in this two day and night event. Rain dampened the final Saturday evening celebrations, forcing the party to close earlier than planned.
