Swedes’ chilly dip

A GROUP of Swedish tourists, most of whom are pensioners and some in their 90’s, celebrated Christmas with a dip in the sea off Almuñecar’s San Cristobal beach. 

The idea for the typically-Swedish Christmas and New Year swim was imported more than a decade ago by Swedish tourists who choose to spend Christmas on Granada’s Costa Tropical.  After the swim, the Swedes sing Nordic Christmas songs and celebrate with cava.
