The second phase of Operation ‘Salida de Semana Santa’ will see more traffic than last Friday March 22, when many Spaniards took advantage of an early start to the Easter break.
From midday today and all day tomorrow, Thursday, the busiest times on the roads will be between 1pm and 11pm according to information from The General Traffic Department (DGT).
Most of the traffic will be leaving from the large cities and heading for tourist zones on the coast, to holiday homes, ski resorts, towns that are celebrating Holy Week with processions and to the mountains.
In various communities there will be traffic flow problems due to the large amount of traffic circulating, with delays on the exits and access roads. Extra traffic police will be on duty during the mass exodus.
The DGT warn that in Andalucia the busiest roads will be the AP-4, AP-7, A-4, A-45, A-49, A-7 y A-92.
