Palencia courts have remanded a woman, 39, for the alleged murder of a young psychologist.
The accused was a patient of the deceased at the San Juan de Dios health centre in Valladolid where she was being treated for depression.
The victim, 29, was initially stabilised by health centre personnel but died on the way to Rio Carrion hospital.
The alleged killer, from Leon, went into the victim’s office and began her frenzied attack with a 10 centimetre bladed knife; she stabbed the victim in the neck and arms which eventually led to her death.
The alleged perpetrator was immobilised by health centre personnel and handed over to the police on their arrival.
The judge hearing the case has stated that due to the extremely violent nature of the crime and the woman’s apparent state of mental alienation she would not receive bail but rather go straight to prison to await her trial.
