A new initiative has been rolled out in Newcastle by the police with party goers being handed out free pink flip flops to save them from pain caused by high heels.
Not many would disagree that after a long night of dancing and drinking that high heels cause discomfort and problems. The local police service has therefore decided to instil a bit more confidence and trust in the police by helping these people out and it is very much appreciated.
They hope to build strong relationships in order to cut crime and just generally help out the community. The response from certain groups is, however, not so warm with calls being made that it is an unnecessary use of public funds. But the ladies after a night out have warmed to the idea instantly.
