Alejandro Valverde has won the one day race at Saturday´s ‘Clasica de San Sebastian’ following his 4th place at the Tour de France.
The Spanish cyclist rode for Movistar and was on the podium before the second last stage of the famous Tour. Despite the disappointment Valverde was victorious this weekend by a 14 second gap to his nearest rival, Bauke Mollema.
Valverde will be happy with his form following strong results recently. He has already won this Classic before in 2008. He further adds to a strong list of previous winners of the San Sebastian race including Tour de France champion Miguel Indurain.
