THE stars came out tonight (Saturday) for what has become the society highlight of the year in Marbella.
Antonio Banderas and fellow Hollywood superstar Mia Farrow were joined by a host of international and Spanish celebrities for the red carpet treatment at the Starlite Gala 2014.
Host Banderas was once again the main focus of the Spanish press at the charity event, but this year he was sharing the spotlight with actress Mia Farrow, who was given the Starlite Gala 2014 Honorary Award.
Also being honoured was Mexican business magnate Carlos Slim who was given the 2014 Humanitarian Starlite Gala Award. Slim, who usurped Bill Gates for the postion of the richest man in the world, is well known for his philanthropy.
Others treading the red carpet included some of the best known celebrities, businesspeople and philanthropists in Spain, as well as prominent members of Marbella society.
These included Baroness Thyssen, Agatha Ruíz de la Prada, Enrique Ponce, Paco Arango and El Hombre de Negro from satirical TV show El Hormiguero.
It was the fifth edition of the gala which has rapidly become the most star-studded event in Marbella’s year. Held at Marbella quarry it is the society highlight of the Starlite Festival.
