THREE armed men in Murcia have stolen an undercover police car at gunpoint with two police officers inside.
National Police and the Guardia Civil have sent out a warning to all officers in the area advising them to ramp up their security and personal protection as the culprits are considered armed and very dangerous.
Police forces suspect that the gang is active in the La Manga del Mar Menor area from Murcia to Cartagena.
The incident took place in broad daylight in the centre of Murcia when three people, all of Colombian nationality, approached an unmarked police car in which there were two plain clothes police officers. They threatened the officers at gunpoint and forced them out of the car and drove off in it.
The gang approached in two cars, a black Seat Leon and a white Ford Focus, and went off in a grey Volkswagen Golf.
All three police forces are on high alert looking for the gang responsible.
