A MAN has been shot dead in a shopping centre in Benahavis, Euro Weekly News has learnt.
The incident took place at around two in the morning on Thursday in Monte Halcones shopping centre, but both the identity of the victim and the motive behind the attack remain unknown at this time.
The victim is believed to be of Arabic origin and around 35-years-old. Two men are being sought in connection with the shooting.
It is reported that the dead man was sitting down with a number of other people when the two individuals went for him. On realising the danger he was in, he tried to flee, and it was at this point the shooters open fired with an unknown number of shots.
After receiving various calls from witnesses to the shooting, both Local Police and Guardia Civil officers attended the scene, but were unable to save the man’s life.
The case remains open as the police pursue various leads.
